Christian Ward
Christian J. Ward was born 30 years ago and has been pretty much drawing ever since. Along the way, he has developed a fetish for drawing mysterious femme fatales, psychedelic mind clouds and men in capes trying to look dangerous. He is influenced by comic art, contemporary fine art, graffiti and graphics and by art nouveau and film as well.
Capsule9 | The portfolio of Chris Pew
Merging the dynamic, and often polar, worlds of science and art, Chris Pew explores ideas of an abstract cosmos and different trajectories for the unobservable universe. Chris’ work revolves around scientific theories and his art is an interpretation of those theories. He is interested in the hypothetical conditions of these theories and this is what he portrays in his work. Many times, scientists are purely speculating on a theory that only takes place if a certain condition exists, or the theory is impossible to prove in the foreseeable future.

OMAGIU#8 nano
‘There’s plenty of space down there’
Richard Feynman, December the 29th, 1959
Megalomania is not only the prerogative of outdated despotic regimes. Megalomania seems at ease within the new Romanian consumerist society. Whatever is big must be therefore good. The neighbourhoods, the houses, the streets, the hotels, the museums, they’re all huge. Projections are getting bigger everyday, while festivals longer and larger. Featuring bigger and bigger names. On screens and LCDs with lots of inches.
Bigger and bigger promises arise.
Facing the European expansion, Omagiu#8 seeks through nano means of expanding from down up.
We’re interested in everything that’s small, even tiny, and in everything that develops and multiplies imperceptibly with an atomic impact. Be it technological innovations or those who are endangered by today’s giants, we want to find out who are today’s micro-adventurers.
Omagiu#8 nano is searching for masterpieces produced in minute detail and viable even when looked at through the electronic microscope. We are looking for material and molecular ideas that can spread exponentially within and outside the magazine.
Deadline: 15th of August
Texts: maximum 1500 words required
Images: 300 dpi, CMYK
Thank You.

The Art of Robert Craig
Born in New York City, Robert showed an aptitude for art at a very early age. By the age of 14 while staring at a Frank Frazetta original that was hanging in the Society of Illustrators he knew exactly what 'kind' of artist he wanted to be. Robert wanted to be, and became a commercial illustrator. Robert illustrated ads for Playboy, Rolling Stone, IBM, Sony, Disney, Viacom, TV Guide, Westinghouse, General Motors, Cigarette brands such as Winston, Doral, Magna, and yes Camel. Robert had a hand in some of the now infamous Joe Camel illustrations. Robert worked in marathon sessions. It was not unusual for him to work 24-36 sometimes 72 straight hours. After 30 years of this....it got old. Now the role of a commercial illustrator had changed quite a bit and so had Robert. Robert retired from his life long occupation and decided to paint what he wanted and sell his work through the galleries. Robert was successful almost immediately. His technical skills and imagination have brought him many supporters. We hope he continues to entertain us with his work for many years to come.

Kristen Ferrell's Artwork
Duality is the major theme of Kristen Ferrell’s work. The conflicting imagery of beauty vs. grotesque; innocence and rage; id vs. superego. Being raised in a quiet, God-fearing Kansas home, and being plagued with constant violent rebellious tendencies forced her to express internal conflicts through artistic outlets. Influenced by artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Goya, and Hieronymus Bosch, she voices her confusion with human behavior through classical symbolism, but in modern terms. Using the classical meaning behind the objects and animals represented in her work, she relays her reactions and observations to incidences in her own life - such as motherhood, neurosis, divorce, distrust, and the confusion that presents itself when dealing with others.
